Live Well promoting healthy lifestyle choices through education, motivation, and support for all generations
The “Live Well” newsletter is brought to you by the Health and Wellness Committee of Crawford County (HWCCC), a committee of the Crawford County Community Coalition. The Health and Wellness Committee of Crawford County was formed in conjunction with the Kansas Health Foundation Nutrition and Physical Activity Grant awarded to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas in July of 2007.
“Live Well” is intended to provide readers information regarding healthy nutrition and physical fitness for all ages including activities, recipes, and other health and wellness tips.
The vision of HWCCC is Crawford County: Healthy & Active for Life! The mission is to promote healthy lifestyle choices through education, motivation, and support for all generations. The HWCCC intends to accomplish their mission by assisting in building capacity in schools, workplaces, community groups and churches to implement wellness programs; assisting in coordinating marketing and education efforts for health and wellness in Crawford County and assisting in creating and sustaining an array of initiatives to motivate and support healthier lifestyles.
Through a grant provided by the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas and the Kansas Health Foundation, HWCCC is planning its first major initiative to be held in August 2008, The Crawford County School Wellness In-service and Community Education Program.
